We love food, and that’s no secret.
In our eyes, food is more than sustenance, and a meal is more than something we can super-size. Food has the power to provide smiles, hope and build special memories with those you love.
Last year, we knew that we wanted to help feed the community that we call home, and thanks to many of you, we were able to provide MANNA foodbank with a donation that fed many people in Buncombe County. This year, we want to help both of the communities that we are involved with, in the hopes that no one will go hungry this winter.
Starting this Monday, November 2nd – Tuesday, December 1st Valet Gourmet is coordinating the collection of dry and canned goods to be donated within both the Asheville and Knoxville communities. Any Valet Gourmet customer can donate items for the food drive by passing those items directly to their delivery driver when they receive their order.
In Asheville, all of our donations will be going directly to MANNA Foodbank. MANNA collects, stores, warehouses, and distributes food to MANNA accredited nonprofits throughout 16 counties in Western North Carolina. They have a network of partner agencies that distributes the food directly to families in their community according to their individual programs.
In Knoxville, all of our donations will be going directly to Second Harvest of East Tennessee. Second Harvest Food Bank is the East Tennessee region’s largest hunger-relief charity; operating programs in 18 counties. The food bank secures and distributes over 18 million pounds of food and grocery products annually through a network of over 500 partnering non-profit organizations such as food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and schools.
We have many restaurants partners who are going to be helping us out as well, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter (Valet_Gourmet) to stay up to date and hear about specials we will be offering to those who participate in the Valet Gourmet Driving with a Cause, Part Deux!
